The bus is leaving the station.......Vacation day 1

It has been a LONG time since we have traveled to one of our favorite vacation destinations (the twins were 2 years old last time we were there).... SUNRIVER!!!!

We packed up the bus...and headed east to the land of sun!!!!

We stopped along the way to visit Detroit Lake

You can barely see Mt. Jefferson in the background!!!

Driving through Deschutes National Forest, all of the trees were dead.  My dad said it is due to a fire that came through the area 4 or 5 years ago.  Note to Obama -- "Can you please put people back to work planting trees???? It would improve the view, and Oregon can use some more jobs!!!"  (P.S. Thank you advance for your consideration.)

A view of the mountains on our way over....you can tell we have summited the Cascade range....everything is now BROWN and there isn't any more lush vegetation.

We made a stop in Sisters at Bronco Billy's Ranch Grill and Saloon for lunch

"A table for 13 please!!!"  Note here --- It is unwise to enter a restaurant with 13 people, just after a party of 20 has entered and been seated.  The end result is waiting PATIENTLY for an hour for your food to arrive.  Good thing the food was worth waiting for!!!

Before leaving town, we found these two cuties in the Sister's Jail.  Good thing we had enough money to bail them out!!!

We were very excited to find out our friends Connie and Addsion Manley were on a Harley ride to Bend from the Willamette Valley with 20 other Harley riders!!!  We hadn't seen them in 6 years (thus they had never met Sarah) and so we caught up with them at Harley Davidson in Bend for a quick visit before heading to Sunriver!!!

The Log Cabin we rented with the Block Family just outside of Sunriver Resort.  We highly recommend staying on the property which is in a private residential neighborhood!!!

To the left you can see the back patio on the house, which was immediately deemed "adults only"!!!

The entry way, looking towards the King Master Suite where Matt and I stayed.

The King Master Suite

View from the kitchen looking into the Great Room

View from the Great room looking into the dining room -- windows EVERYWHERE looking out into the forest

View from the Great room, towards the back of the house.  Open door leads to a Queen Master Suite.  Upstairs is a 2 queen loft where the girls stayed.  Downstairs was another queen suite, bedroom with 4 bunk beds and a huge Family room.  The boys had the entire downstairs.

What was our first stop after unloading our vehicles.....YEP!!  The HOT TUB!!!

SO, this is what "Living the LIFE" is all about.......

Later that evening, Mallory and Sarah tested out the jacuzzi tub!!!

Bubble Tiaras for the little princesses

It is SO good to be 5 and 6 years old!!!

Watch out world.....Bubble Sasquatch exists!!!!
