Cave B Inn

Matt and I took a trip to Cave B Inn at Sagecliff in Quincy, Washington. Subaru was hosting a conference there, and Matt asked his mom to come and watch the kids so I could join him at the Inn. (Thank you Lorna!!!!)

We arrived Thursday and spent the evening admiring the beautiful view of the Columbia River Gorge. Friday Matt left for his conference and I spent 4 hours at the spa. That evening Matt did some wine tasting (discovering he likes Riesling -- and nothing Red). We then went to Tedrils restaurant for dinner. The food there was FABULOUS!

We left bright and early Saturday morning to head back home (about a 4 1/2 hour drive).

Picture we took of our room. They have floor to ceiling windows that overlook the gorge. Sitting out on the patio you hear nothing but silence!
Here's a picture of the bathroom. All of the floors were travertine...gorgeous! (Sorry, I can't figure out how to flip the picture correctly!)
Another picture of our room. They had a huge sunken tub and you could look out at the gorge!
This picture was taken from our patio. The Columbia river is in the distance! I was told when leaving the spa the first "snake of the season" (rattlesnake) was spotted down by the river. Yikes!

Easter afternoon

As luck would have it, I ended up with the flu on Easter and spent most of the day in bed. Matt took the kids to the neighborhood park in the afternoon and they had a fabulous time!

It is 78 degrees this afternoon! Sarah and Odin held still for just a moment so I could take a picture of them playing in the backyard!

Barbecue anyone?

Barbecue season is just around the corner and so we purchased a new grill this weekend!

The grill has a 45 hamburger capacity!!! Yes, you read that correctly 45! Not to mention the kids' favorite feature -- it comes with a side griddle for pancakes and eggs (apparently they feel we need to barbecue our breakfast)!
Here's a photo PRIOR to all the fingerprints!!
Can you guess who picked out the barbecue cover?????? Go Ducks!

It is soccer season!

Our weekend revolved around soccer this weekend. Both Brandon and Ryan had a game on Saturday and due to the rain we were not able to get our camera out for pictures. Brandon's team ~ The Canby Generals won their game 6 to 4 against Oregon City. Brandon scored the first goal for his team! Ryan's team, "The Fire Falcons", played Gladstone and they won 5 to 1, with Ryan making the first goal for his team!
On Sunday, Ryan's team played their game against North Clackamas and they lost 5 to 4. Ryan scored 3 goals (actually 4, but the other team touched the ball with his hands so it didn't count!).
I've posted pictures of Ryan's game!
