Just a little update!

It has been a while since we have posted anything on our blog, so I thought I'd just post an update! We listed our house this week with an agent and are in the process of preparing to move when the opportunity presents itself! We haven't been up to anything exciting, so no new photos from our home, but thought I'd put a photo of my parents house, from this week! They have a winter wonderland down south!

We are so proud of Brandon!

Brandon ran for student council and was elected Representative! We are so proud of him! Below is the flyer he posted throughout his school wing!
His motto "Discover what I can do for you" fit well because he is in the "Discovery Wing"!

It is a good day in the Tishendorf household!

We are celebrating the news that Matt was given a promotion today. He remains the Service Director for the Lincoln, Mercury, and Subaru shop, and now will also over see the Recon Department for the dealership!

Our minds are now made up and we will be putting our house on the market with a realtor the first week of February with hopes of relocating no later than this summer!

Brandon is "In the Club"!

At the Middle School that Brandon attends, instead of calling it "The Honor Roll", they call it "In the Club" for students that receive As and Bs on their report card! We are so proud of Brandon! He is "In the Club" for receiving straight As on his report card!

Murphy's Lesser Known Laws

Murphy's Lesser Known Laws

1. Light travels faster than sound. This is why some peopleAppear bright until you hear them speak.

2. Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

3. Those who live by the sword get shot by those who don't.

4. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

5. The 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

6. If you lined up all the cars in the world end to end, someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them, five or six at a time, on a hill, in the fog.

7. The things that come to those who wait will be the scraggly junk left by those who got there first.

8. The shin bone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.

9. A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

10. When you go into court, you are putting yourself into the hands of 12 people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty.

Muffin with a spoon?

This morning I gave Sarah a muffin for breakfast, and when I looked up from reading the paper I found her with a perfect circle in the middle of her muffin~ that she was eating with a spoon. She cracks me up!

Guitar Hero III

Brandon couldn't wait to go out and spend his birthday money today! "Thank you, Omie and Grant!" He used his money and gift certificate to buy Guitar Hero III!

Brandon's birthday celebration!

On Saturday we celebrated Brandon's 12th birthday! Matt loaded up the van in the morning with the boys and picked up 3 of Brandon's friends. They headed to Ultrazone in Milwaukie, Oregon to play lazer tag for a few hours! Afterwards, they headed back to our home for pizza!

A table full with family and friends!
Brandon chose a lemon cake with ice cream filling!

He made a wish and blew out the candles!!!!

The cake was excellent!

Brandon opening his gifts!

And of course, everyone had to play Rock Band!!!!!

"Omie" came up and celebrated with us! Brandon is almost as tall as she is!

New Years Day road trip!

Today we decided to take a trip to Ridgefield Washington. We toured the town and then went to visit Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is 5,150 acres and is the winter habitat for migrating birds of the Cascade Mountains. You can find out more information about the refuge at http://www.fws.gov/refuges/profiles/index.cfm?id=13551. They have tons of hiking trails throughout the area that would be fun to visit in the early summer when everything is green and in bloom!

A male and female Mallard
A nutria!
Some Canadian Geese!
A prairie falcon!
View of the refuge!
Another view with all of the birds
These are either nutia or river otters...not sure which, but it is an adult and baby!
The snow capped hills in the background!
This area was filled with swans!
