August Update

It has been a while since we posted on our blog! Nothing really exciting going on. Matt and I are preparing for the "busy season" with the kids. We spent the weekend shopping for school clothes -- Nothing like packing up 6 kids and hitting the mall. 10 pairs of shoes, 30 pairs of pants, and multiple shirts and other necessities later, we celebrated finishing our school clothes shopping at Red Robin's Restaurant in Clackamas!

Our school supply lists seem to grow larger and larger each year. We went to Target with a list of supplies we needed. While standing in the school supplies section, I was reading off the list to Matt "We need 84 pencils" "We need 42 glue sticks" "We need 11 peechee folders". The store employee looked at me and asked "Are you buying for the whole classroom?" Funny, it sure feels like it, sometimes!

School starts on September 4th and we are coordinating the kids schedules, which will keep us very busy. Starting in September Tori will start Jazz class and Musical Theater classes. Ryan is playing football. It looks like he will start out playing 1st string defense as a Cornerback (we have ice packs ready for the bumps and bruises!). Tyler's soccer coach called tonight and his first practice will be August 27th. Luckily Ryley, Sarah and Brandon don't have any extra curricular activities just yet.

Matt and I snuck away for a quick trip to Portland's new IKEA store. Even an hour before closing the parking lot was completely full. We made it out with a couple new bookcases for Tori Lynn's new "purple room" that we are redecorating.

Matt finished tiling our walls surrounding the bathtub! He'll be grouting this week and then move on to tiling the bathtub surround at the base and then start demolition on our bathroom counter top!
