The first pumpkin patch trip of the season!
The weather today was sunny and warm (mid 80s) so we decided to take a road trip out to our first pumpkin patch of the season! We are fans of TLC's Little People Big World TV show and this was their opening weekend at their farm, so we headed out to The Roloff Farm.
They were offering 2 tours this year. The first tour we took was called "The Original Town Tour".
While on the tour we saw Molly and Jacob in front of their house.
At Western Town we met Mr. and Mrs. Roloff (the grandparents). We had the opportunity to visit with Mr. Roloff for quite some time and he has to be one of the kindest and genuine people we've met.

Brandon fittingly chose the Barbershop to have his photo taken at since we tend to disagree on what the appropriate hair length for him should be. He likes the long shaggy look.

Mr. Roloff took our picture near the jail cell.
The kids (minus Ryley) in front of the church. On our second tour -- which they called "The New Scenic Tour" Zach drove the tractor.

Sarah loved the tractor rides.
If you watch the show, you'll recognize the sign.
The barn they call "Barn #1. The back half is where the producers edit the show, the front half is the farm office area.
The Roloff's sport court (free for airing it on their show). The kids asked if we could get one.
The view of the back of their 6000 square foot home.

After the tour we had the opportunity to meet Amy Roloff.
Jeremy Roloff was constantly surrounded by young ladies. I'm not sure if that has to do with the tour guide announcing that he is now single....hmmmm.

Sarah picked the perfect pumpkin.
So did Brandon.
Ryan chose the one I would have chosen!
Tori's was so big we didn't think she'd be able to lift it.

Tyler couldn't lift the one he chose so he decided to sit on it for his photo.

Toys? Who needs toys?
This afternoon Matt and I took a trip to The Home Depot. A short time after we were home I heard Sarah yelling, "MOM!!!! COME HERE!!!! MOM!!!! MOM!!! COME HERE!!!!"
She was thrilled with our latest purchase (easy close toilet seats).

Another weekend on the go
We were on the go this morning bright and early and doing the "divide and conquer" method of getting all of the kids to their events.
Matt started off the morning leaving around 7:15am with Ryan to head to Milwaukie, Oregon for his football game. His team played Rex Putnam and they tied the game 13-13.
Meanwhile I took Tori to try out for the local dance studio's dance team. Keep your fingers crossed for her... she'll find out if she made the team on Tuesday.
This afternoon Matt and I drove out to Newberg to watch Brandon play football (have I mentioned how nice it is now that the twins can babysit????). His team lost 12- 25.
This evening Tori and Brandon have friends over for the night. Note you will only see a photo of Tori and her friends on the blog because they asked me to come in and take some photos of them being silly.
Note -- It IS NOT COOL for me to come up and ask Brandon and his friend to allow me to take a picture so I didn't attempt to take my camera upstairs for a boys photo shoot.

This weekend's football games
Brandon and Ryan both had football games this weekend, and as luck would have it, they were at the exact same time. Brandon's game was in Hillsboro, Oregon. Ryan's game was in Canby, Oregon.
Brandon's team colors were almost identical to Liberty's team colors, so our team had to wear the yellow mesh jerseys. From the stands it was hard to see our player's numbers, so I only took a few photos from the stands.
Brandon is the player on the right.
The turf field was very nice, although Brandon had a few rough tackles and said he had rubber and turf go up his nose which was very unpleasant.

Brandon's team won the game 28-0. Their is a rule in the Tualatin Valley Football League that states that teams cannot have more than a 32 point spread. If they do, the coaches will be fined and the win will go down as a loss in the official play book for the League. Thus, the second half of the game was extremely boring.
Ryan's team played Sherwood, Oregon which both boys say is our town's biggest rival. Ryan's team lost the game 42-18.

Going to get crafty!
We spent most of the morning bringing all my scrapbooking stuff downstairs! I carved out a nook in my bedroom so Tori and I will have a spot to get crafty this fall when the rains arrive! Now we just have to get a lock for our bedroom door so Little Miss Sarah doesn't get busy crafting while we aren't looking!

Bring on the bassoon
Brandon had his first private lesson to learn to play the bassoon today!
His long term goal is to be able to play the Super Mario song like the video above!
